Achievement

Personal Tutor Rewards

At Golborne High School, our Personal Tutors play a vital role in recognising achievement, celebrating success and fostering a strong sense of belonging within the Golborne Family. During Personal Development Time, there are many opportunities for tutors to acknowledge pupils who consistently demonstrate our school values of Be Kind, Aim High and Work Hard.

Each week, tutors select a Star of the Week, recognising a pupil who has shown outstanding effort, positive contributions, commitment to learning or exemplary conduct. This achievement celebrates those pupils who make a positive impact during Personal Tutor Time and wider school community.

We believe that celebrating success is most meaningful when it is shared with home. As part of our commitment to building strong partnerships with parents and carers, tutors regularly communicate pupils' achievements through positive phone calls home, postcards and messages of praise. These moments help strengthen relationships between school and home, ensuring that families can share in and celebrate their child's successes.

By recognising achievements both large and small, we reinforce our high expectations, encourage pupils to take pride in their accomplishments and inspire them to continue striving for excellence. Together, with parents and carers, we celebrate the hard work, progress and personal successes of our pupils, helping every child feel valued, recognised and proud to be part of the Golborne Family.

Tutors monitor attendance weekly and reward students who achieve 100% attendance, reinforcing the importance of consistent engagement with school.

Punctuality is also recognised through a weekly prize draw, where students who arrive on time every day have the opportunity to win food vouchers to use at break time. In addition, our Attendance League promotes a healthy sense of competition between tutor groups. Each week, the tutor group with the highest attendance is crowned the winner and enjoys a celebratory reward of toast and milkshakes during Personal Development time.
