Today we remember Golborne Colliery on the 47th Anniversary of the Mining disaster. On 18 March 1979, 11 men were employed in the Plodder Seam at Golborne Colliery when an explosion of firedamp occurred. Three men were killed, & seven subsequently died in hospital. pic.twitter.com/DbKEZLAVav

Y8 Tech pupils were challenged to design & create a mood lamp based on a theme of their choice. Using a range of tools & equipment, pupils selected a design that would become the main visual feature of their lamp before focusing on the more technical aspects of the project. pic.twitter.com/nezx1vcc6T

Science Club was buzzing with excitement this week as pupils created their own Buzz Wire games. The mission: steer a metal loop along a winding wire path from start to finish. If the loop hits the wire, it completes an electric circuit, sounding the buzzer. pic.twitter.com/FnOsKtEnq2

Yesterday our youth travel ambassadors attended the TFGM (Travel for Greater Manchester) pitch event to bid for funding towards active travel at Golborne High School. Yesterday, our Y9 pupils welcomed Owen Powell from the National Justice Museum for an engaging & immersive legal workshop.
