Educational Visits

Educational visits help our pupils to Be Kind, Aim High and Work Hard by encouraging them to embrace new experiences, support others, develop confidence and take pride in representing the Golborne Family.

Educational visits are a vital part of life at Golborne High School and form a key element of our enrichment programme. They provide valuable opportunities for pupils to extend their learning beyond the classroom, broaden their horizons and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future success.

At Golborne, we believe that learning should be inspiring, memorable and meaningful. Through carefully planned educational visits, pupils experience learning in real-world contexts, helping them deepen their understanding of curriculum subjects while developing independence, resilience, teamwork and communication skills. These experiences encourage pupils to Aim High, embrace new challenges and step beyond their comfort zones.

Educational visits also play an important role in promoting wellbeing, fostering a sense of belonging and strengthening relationships between pupils and staff. Whether travelling locally, nationally or internationally, pupils create lasting memories while developing confidence and pride as members of the Golborne Family.

Our broad and inclusive programme of visits supports the interests, talents and aspirations of all pupils. Opportunities include visits to theatres, museums, galleries, historical sites, universities and places of cultural significance, alongside outdoor learning experiences and community engagement projects. Through these experiences, pupils gain valuable cultural capital and develop a greater understanding of the world around them.

Educational visits provide opportunities for pupils to demonstrate our core values of Be Kind, Aim High and Work Hard. They encourage pupils to support one another, represent the school positively, engage fully in new experiences and take pride in their achievements.

In recent years, pupils have benefited from a range of national and international visits, including New York, Iceland, Italy, the Belgium Battlefields, and ski trips to Italy and Austria. These experiences inspire curiosity, raise aspirations and help pupils to recognise the limitless possibilities available to them.

Through our programme of educational visits, cultural experiences, outdoor learning and community engagement, we ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to develop character, broaden their perspectives and create memories that will last a lifetime. Most importantly, these experiences help pupils grow into confident, ambitious and compassionate young people who are proud to be part of the Golborne Family.
