Free School Meals

‘From the start of the 2026–2027 academic year, the Department for Education is extending Free School Meals to all children in households receiving Universal Credit, regardless of income.

All families, including those already eligible, will need to be assessed before September 2026.  The earlier this is completed, the sooner we can advise you of your child's entitlement for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Please click the link below to complete an online form from Wigan Council.  You will need to provide a separate application for each child and include your name, date of birth, and National Insurance number.’
