At Golborne High School, we believe strongly in the value of welcoming trainee teachers into our learning community, so much so that we run our own School Direct partnership as part of Trinity Teaching Alliance.
The Trinity Hub, based at Golborne High School, is a centre of excellence for Teaching and Learning. All trainee teachers are welcome to use the Hub to support their own ongoing route into teaching. The Hub is a multi-functional space where conferences and training are held, research groups meet and where self-directed study can take place.
Our aim is to support trainee teachers in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Special education as they move through the training and qualifying process. We ensure that trainees have early, career-stage-appropriate opportunities to experience our wonderful profession.
If you would like to express an interest in training with us, please contact Golborne High School.
We work closely with several partner organisations to provide opportunities for accessing the school-based element of ITT (Initial Teacher Training). We provide placements for both the SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training) and the PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education) routes. ITT providers we work with include:
We take pride in sharing our own good practice and we value opportunities to reflect on new approaches and teaching methods which may be introduced to our classrooms by trainees.
At Golborne High School and through Trinity Teaching Alliance, trainees benefit from the expertise of a Professional Mentor and a carefully selected Subject Mentor, who will tailor the training programme around the specific needs of the trainee. There will also be opportunities for trainees to explore those areas of wider school life which may be of specific interest to them.
For an informal conversation about teacher training at Golborne High School, please contact Victoria Casey. Alternatively, ask your ITT provider to tell you more about their experience of working with the school.
Further information about routes into teaching can also be found at the government’s Get Into Teaching website, where those considering a career in teaching can also seek personalised advice from experts.
Applications for Golborne High School’s Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme open in October and application information and forms can be found here by clicking the subject or phase of your choice.
