The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme is an internationally recognised award which has been running for over 60 years. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is highly valued by employers and there is a section of the UCAS (https://www.ucas.com/) form worth valuable points to record successful completion of the Award. At Golborne High School students start the Bronze Award at the end of year 9 and aim to complete it by the end of Year 10. The award consists of four sections which are completed over three or six months:

Physical: a physical activity or sport
Skill: improving or learning a new skill
Expedition: Learning new skills and applying them in overnight camping expeditions
